29 Oct Krahling will make sure every voice gets heard
The following appeared in the October 28, 2016 Las Cruces Sun News Letters to the Editor:
Every day, residents of Doña Ana County enter the Clerk’s Office, many of whom within the last 100 years wouldn’t have been allowed to solicit the very services their tax dollars paid for. Anything from obtaining a business or marriage license, registering to vote, or other regrettable stains in our government’s past. Our country has a negative history of treating people unfairly at times, but a positive legacy of striving for justice.
Forward-thinking leaders like Lynn Ellins and Scott Krahling have advanced us and been affirmed by our state’s and nation’s highest courts. They continue a legacy in the Clerk’s Office residents can be proud of. It’s with a profound sense of responsibility Scott Krahling seeks the office of county clerk and maintains a commitment to the importance of every vote and voice. He believes his work is to ensure a trustworthy democratic process that empowers our community to stand up for what they believe.
We know that Scott Krahling is the best choice for county clerk by the integrity and efficiency of our county’s elections. Whether through the use of Voting Convenience Centers or keeping the Clerk’s Office open more to allow extra time to register to vote, as chief deputy clerk, Krahling has shown a passion for ensuring our voices can always be heard and our votes counted. He is a man who doesn’t cringe at the concept of social justice, but rather embraces it as a vital component of an office that should always seek to serve every resident of Doña Ana County. He is passionate about democracy and believes in the value of every voter.
In November, vote Scott Krahling for county clerk. He has the experience and dedication to ensure every vote on a ballot is cared for and counted.
