25 Oct Krahling has vision, leadership for clerk
The following appeared in the October 17, 2016 edition of the Las Cruces Sun News Letters to the Editor:
I am voting for Scott Krahling as our next county clerk. Scott’s leadership is not only vital to the Clerk’s Office but to our community. His vision to build a voting culture where everyone votes in every election demonstrates his total commitment to our county. In addition, his leadership role for eight years as a county commissioner and more recently as chief deputy clerk makes him the most qualified person for the job.
I first met Scott when he knocked on my door during his campaign for county commissioner. Immediately I was impressed by his willingness to listen to his constituents and not only serve them, but invite them to participate in their local government. He had much success as my county commissioner, and I am confident that he will be as successful as our next county clerk.
In fact in his three years in the Clerk’s Office, Scott has already had much success. He has overseen 22 elections with trusted results, registered over 1,000 new voters in Dona Ana County as a result of his community outreach program, registered over 400 students, parents and teachers, opened 40 Voting Convenience Centers, and had a successful primary election in June. Scott has demonstrated his leadership and commitment to bring fair elections for all voters with results we can trust.
On a personal note, I volunteered in three elections supervised by Scott Krahling. He acted quickly when any problem arose and his well-trained employees impressed me.
I voted early and encourage you to do the same. Vote early at the Dona Ana Government Center, 845 N. Motel Blvd, during regular business hours Monday through Friday, or starting Oct. 22 at any of the 6 alternate voting centers open from 11 a.m. to 7p.m.
Scott Krahling has my vote to be our next county clerk.
